It's that time of year again, so I'll be back Sunday with reflections on the Lectionary. In the meantime, here's a lovely lenten video for your contemplative pleasure.

  1. This is a great way to introduce Lent to kids. It's focus on Jesus being the flesh of God and the Holy Spirit is charmingly represented, especially when he's chasing the pigeons.
This animation's simplicity reminds us he was human. It reminds us that the 40 days and nights were probably as simple as waiting out the rain.
The beauty of Lent is in the difficulty to accept that there's no such thing in life as 'just rain'. Everything experienced is meaningful and special. By removing ourselves from the complex luxuries of life we can reconnect with the messy, difficult reality of simply living.
Simply living is our gift.During Lent, we take it off the shelf and shake the dust away to look at life clearly again.
